Join your local Radio Club

Most Marine Rescue NSW units operate a Radio Club for members of their local boating community. These clubs are a great way for you to show your support for our volunteers and the vital emergency services they provide on NSW waterways.

While some units may have different names for their Radio Clubs, the Botany Port Hacking Unit uses SBP ("Seahawk Bravo Papa") as the member prefix for Seahawk Botany Port Hacking.

Our members and supporters who have signed up receive a unique Marine Rescue-issued radio call sign, membership card
and
list of all Marine Rescue bases for easy reference.

Using this brief identifier will save you time on the radio when you are contacting Marine Rescue, such as when you Log On, Log Off, checking your marine radio is operating effectively, seeking a weather update or require vessel breakdown assistance.

The information on your boat and vehicle and the personal contact details you have provided our unit as part of your membership will help us search for you in the event of an emergency.

In addition to our primary role of emergency responders and promoting safety on the water, Marine Rescue Botany Port Hacking provides
education courses to the boating public, including Boat & PWC licence courses, Marine Radio (Both SROCP and LROCP) courses
and Coastal Navigation

Your annual club membership fee, makes an important contribution to our volunteer fundraising, as a not-for-profit community-based service. The annual membership fee also goes toward the maintenance and upkeep of our rescue vessels, radio base and the training of our volunteer crews.

Please help us to help you and others by joining today.

To thank you for your ongoing support for the Botany Port Hacking local unit, Marine Rescue NSW is now providing Radio Club members with a range of exclusive benefits.
